The Pisonis arrived in Trentino – an alpine region situated on the northern border of Italy - during the Roman period. The family is recorded in official documents going back to the Middle Ages. They always grew grapevines and worked on the land.
During the Council of Trent the Pisonis were the official suppliers of wine for the court of the Prince Bishop Carlo Emanuele Madruzzo.

The first documents of wine making at the Pisoni cellar in Pergolese date back to 1862.
The Pisonis have attended the very prestigious School of Enology in S. Michele all’Adige since its foundation in 1874. The tradition is handed down from father to son. Each member of the present Pisoni family plays a precise role in the firm devoting attention to modern technology without ever forgetting their history..
